So here we are, friends! August Moon 13 has officially come to a close.
But, as you know, our dreaming is only just beginning.
If you have only just joined us recently or still feel like you're catching up, the daily linkies will stay open until 21 September.
But I hope you will stay with me, and each other, far beyond that.
It has been an absolute privilege to see the community that has formed around these daily prompts. If there was one thing I wished for in bringing this little challenge to fruition, it was that kindred spirits would find each other and find comfort in shared joys, fears, tragedies and triumphs... and this is exactly what happened.
And for that, and from the bottom of my heart, I thank you.
I am also indebted to Tui Snyder and the #StoryDam crew for a most pleasurable (if somewhat crazy!) hour of chatting about writing, courage and connection. I think this may just be the beginning of something beautiful.
And, of course, I must thank dear Meredith for providing half the prompts and accompanying photos, and for managing the email side of things so capably. It was a pleasure and a privilege to work with you.
For those of you who followed along quietly, safe in the privacy of your journal, I need you to know that your presence was felt throughout the entire eleven days and there was magic in it. There was no need to share, if you did not feel compelled to do so: your participation and contribution were more than enough.
Now if, like me, you're the kind of person to wonder "What next?" then please stay tuned! I'll be hosting #reverb13 here at I Saw You Dancing in December and I promise to keep you posted.
Also, if you're keen to maintain your blogging and journalling momentum then I really cannot recommend Wolf & Word highly enough. It's a new site especially designed for writers seeking inspiration and community and it's simply brilliant.
I know it's slightly unfair to single out a single contribution to August Moon but I think this poem My wish for you, and you and you and you by Mrs Mediocrity really sums up our experience over the past fortnight. As with all Kelly's work, it's poignant and powerful and I can't begin to tell you how overwhelmed I was when she told me she had written it for me.
Thank you for baring and sharing your souls during this blue moon. May your every wish come true.
Love always, Kat xx
P.S. If you'd like to share any observations from the past eleven days or have some suggestions as to how we could improve the experience in future, please do share in the comments below.
